COLOMBOtwinspinslot, Augtwinspinslot. 8 (Xinhua) -- Another 590,000 U.S. dollars with the Children of Gaza Fund were officially handed over to the Palestinian government, Sri Lanka's President's Media Division (PMD) said in a statement on Thursday.

The handing over of the cheque took place on Wednesday at the Presidential Secretariat of Sri Lanka, the PMD said.

The fund was established by President Ranil Wickremesinghe to provide for the basic needs of children displaced due to the conflict in the Gaza Strip.

Earlier, 1 million dollars were donated to the Palestinian government on April 1, the PMD said.■
